3. How the Quiz Works (Technical Detail)
The Rice Purity Test quiz on this site operates entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you check or uncheck questions:
- Your selections are stored in your browser's
sessionStorage(temporary, tab-specific memory). - The score calculation runs locally in JavaScript using the formula: Score = 100 − checked items.
- No data is sent to any server, API, or third party at any point during the quiz.
- When you close the browser tab, all quiz data is permanently erased.
- If you click "Reset," all data is immediately cleared from sessionStorage.
You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's developer tools (F12) → Network tab. You will see zero quiz-related network requests while taking the test.
4. Analytics
We may use basic web analytics (such as Google Analytics or similar) to understand aggregate site traffic — page views, device types, geographic regions, and referral sources. If we use Google Analytics:
- Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated — individual users are not identified.
- We use IP anonymization where available.
- We do not use analytics to track individual quiz answers or scores.
- You can opt out using browser extensions like Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings or via aboutads.info.
Ad display does not affect, access, or expose your quiz answers or score in any way.
6. Contact Form Data
If you voluntarily submit a message through our contact form, you provide your name, email address, and message text. This data is:
